On Tuesday night, Baltimore’s 98 Rock was named the 2026 Marconi Award winner for “Rock Station of the Year” by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB).

The award comes on the heels of a dominant 2025 when 98 Rock ranked No. 1 among Persons 25–54 all day, and among Persons 25–54 and 35–64 during weekday listening hours. 98 Rock’s morning show, Justin, Scott & Spiegel, also ranked No. 1 all year among Persons 18–44, 25–54 and 35–64. The JSS morning show was also nominated for the 2026 Marconi Award for Large Market Personality of the Year.

“The entire team at 98 Rock has spent nearly five decades entertaining and informing Baltimore,” said Dan Joerres, president and general manager of 98 Rock, WBAL-TV 11 and WBAL NewsRadio. “This recognition validates these collective efforts and is very well deserved.”

98 Rock was also awarded the NAB Crystal Radio Award for its year-round community services that include blood drives, firefighter fundraisers, Special Olympics Maryland’s Polar Bear Plunge and school supply campaigns that reached more than 300,000 students.

The station further connected with the community through its coverage of the sold-out inaugural Boardwalk Rock Festival, its partnerships with the Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles, and an on-air appeal that helped connect a five-year-old girl with a lifesaving kidney donor.
