2026 Election Preview: 18th Legislative District

Posted

We are closing in on the midterm elections and if Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro wants to see his dream of the Democratic trifecta in Harrisburg come true, his party will have to hold onto its majority in the state House.

Democrats currently hold a 103-100 majority in the House and are hopeful that party enthusiasm and Republican apathy could enable Dems to take their largest advantage in the chamber since 1992 when they held 105 seats.

Working with Governor Shapiro to lower energy prices, including repealing a family crushing energy tax.

Delivering more resources to our local law enforcement and voting to put new cops on the streets.

Working across the aisle to deliver for our students, parents, and teachers to deliver record state funding for our local schools.
PrioritiesFight to ensure every child gets the same high-quality education he wants for his own children.

Fight to lower energy bills by holding massive tech corporations accountable for their power demands and ensuring local communities aren’t left footing the bill.

Defending reproductive healthcare access and personal medical freedom, ensuring patients and doctors—not politicians—make healthcare decisions.

Raising Pennsylvania’s minimum wage to $12 an hour.
We have to do our part to make life more affordable for families. That means building on the accomplishments we have made including the tax cuts we passed to put more money in small businesses and family’s pockets, passing the first property tax relief in two decades, and working with both parties to pass record funding for our schools. We need more charter reform, because the changes to our cyber schools saved millions. Most importantly, we need to keep collaborating and working across the aisle to get things done. I am one of the most bipartisan members of the chamber, and we need more people to work together to solve problems rather than looking to score political points. Most Pressing Issue(s)
Facing Your District
Our district faces a cost-of-living crisis driven by underfunded public schools & soaring utility bills.

State underfunding & flawed formulas drain millions from local schools to subsidize unaccountable charter schools. As a father of three public school kids, I’m fighting to fully fund our classrooms, fix the charter formula, & protect working families & seniors from property tax hikes.

At the same time, AI data centers are driving up electric bills. I oppose tax breaks for tech billionaires & will require big tech to pay for its own renewable power so residents aren’t stuck with the bill.

By holding big tech accountable & forcing the state to pay its fair share for education, we can support our students and give taxpayers real relief.
